Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati has issued a warning to leaders allegedly insulting opposition leader Raila Odinga in public forums threatening them of forceful ‘arrest’ by ordinary Kenyans should they continue with the ‘bad ‘ habit.
Mr Odinga is not a stranger to controversy and has been facing strong criticism from Jubilee government MPs with Moses Kuria and Adan Duale leading the onslaught.
Speaking on Friday at Nyacheki in Kisii, Arati defended the veteran opposition leader from his critics insisting that he remained a true Pan Africanist who was dedicated to fight for rights of people.
“It worries me that some leaders cannot go even a weekend without insulting Raila over nothing. They always speak ill of him since they know whatever he says about government is always the gospel truth,” he said.
Arati added: “If that uncouth trend won’t stop, we will use power invested on ordinary people to arrest them and forcefully arraign them in court of the government cannot tame those lose mouthed people.”
He challenged Jubilee defense team to stick with facts whenever they are countering information availed by the opposition.
“Raila is a Pan Africanist and he speaks on our behalf. Whenever he speaks about scandals in government, be sure that it’s a well done research. We want Jubilee to respond with seriousness rather than engaging in insults,” he said.
