Emurua Dikir Member of Parliament Johana Ngeno has told Deputy President William Ruto to stop intimidating people who may have information about the National Youth Service (NYS) scandal.
Ngeno said that the DP should come clean about his interest in the scandal, adding that he should appear before the Parliamentary Accounts Committee (PAC) to shed more light on the matter.
The MP said if the Deputy President thinks what former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru stated in her submission was untrue then he should argue against it before the committee.
“I would have expected the DP, knowing very well that he has been a Member of Parliament, to appear before that Committee if he thinks that whatever (Anne) Waiguru mentioned in that particular investigation was not true. He should appear there and dispute Waiguru’s allegations,” said Ngeno.
Ngeno added that Ruto should stop making pronouncements about the scandal at funerals and other public meetings, arguing that all those who have been mentioned in the scandal should appear before PAC to defend themselves and that the DP is not exempted.
