Wetangula says that DP Ruto and other Jubilee politicians have no business intruding into Cord affairs.

Speaking to the press at Maanzoni Lodge in Machakos  during a meeting with party delegates on Friday, Wetangula said that it is not Jubilee business that Cord has not endorsed a flag bearer for 2017.

“The Deputy President should keep off Cord affairs and concentrate on Jubilee Party issues,” he said.

Wetangula claimed that Jubilee Party is afraid of the Cord presidential flag bearer.

“They (Jubilee) know that this time it is not business as usual and that is why they are keen to intrude into Cord affairs,” he stated.

The Bungoma senator at the same time said that Cord will remain united ahead of 2017 polls.

He indicated that claims of discontent in the coalition are baseless.

Wetangula who is also eyeing to be endorsed as Cord 2017 flag bearer said that he will support the candidate that will be picked for the presidential ticket.

He, however, appealed to Cord co-principals Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka to support his 2017 bid.

The senator revealed that Cord is working on mechanisms that will see a presidential flag bearer selected and endorsed ahead of the much anticipated 2017 general elections.

He also said that plans for a National Super Alliance (NASA) are on top gear. The Bungoma senator said that Cord is ready to partner with other parties to dislodge Jubilee government from power in 2017.
