Ford Kenya leaders have warned politicians affiliated to Amani National Congress (ANC) against issuing National Super Alliance (NASA) with threats of pulling out of the political outfit ahead of the August polls if former Deputy President Musalia Mudavadi is not going to be named the flag bearer.
Earlier on, leaders backing Mudavadi, who was crowned Luhya spokesperson, issued a warning saying that they will announce their next move if their boss if not given the opportunity to battle it out with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto during the August polls.
In a statement released by Ford Kenya director of communications, Tim Machi argued that the claims of the leaders are likely to hurt the unity of the alliance ahead of the August election.
"We caution such supporters that they are unwittingly lurching onto sinister narratives hatched by enemies of the coalition," Machi said, as quoted by Star.
He also said that the leaders of the alliance should be ready to back of the candidate the movement will front to battle it out with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.
"No one is in this coalition in pursuit of selfish interests or personal ambitions," said Machi. He further said that the alliance has to work as a team to rise to power.
"As a team, we are all bound by the responsibility and civic duty to free the country from the stranglehold of Jubilee," said the official.
