Omar, who is seeking to unseat Governor Hassan Joho of ODM on a Wiper ticket, said politicians should queue just like any other common mwananchi.

Speaking on Tuesday as he waited in line to cast his ballot, the outspoken Senator said leaders had the option of going to their respective polling stations as early as 6am and thus should not be given any preferential treatment.

“Kenyans have busy schedules and have sacrificed their time to come out and vote. Politicians should not be given any special treatment because just like everyone else, they only have one vote,” said Omar.

“I do not use VIP passes because voters are the ones who gave me this status. That is why I have chosen to stand in line and wait for my turn,” added Omar.

Omar has exuded confidence that he will send Joho packing.

The Senator has urged residents to come out in large numbers and exercise their right to vote.
