Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho, has insisted that the NASA coalition will not participate in the October 26th fresh presidential election.

During the Sunday NASA mega rally at Mama Ngina Drive, the ODM deputy party leader, slammed the Jubilee Party MPs and administration, saying they sponsored illegal amendments, as a Bill.

"The electoral amendment laws passed in parliament are an act of bad faith. They intend to make it easier to declare an illegitimate winner," said Joho.

He noted that the laws also make it harder for the Supreme Court to invalidate an illegitimate president.

"They do not constitute “reform”. And with no reforms, there shall be no elections," he added.

He further slammed the Interior and Coordination Ministry, saying police are targeting and killing Kenyans of the Luo community, innocently, during anti-IEBC demonstrations.

"Stop targeted ethnic killings. The Luo community are part of Kenya like any other Kenyans. They have a right to life. In her report “Mirage at Dusk”, the KNHCR describes an ethnically targeted suppression and police brutality."

Johi warned that NASA will not stand by, as brothers and sisters from the lake are killed.

"To those in charge of the security services. I promise you, when the time comes, we shall hold you all legally and individually accountable for the orders you have given," he warned.

The rally was attended by NASA leader Raila Odinga, co-principals Moses Wetangula, Musalia Mudavadi, Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi, Vihiga Senator George Khaniri, among other local Opposition leaders.
