ODM supporters in Kilifi County conducted peaceful protests telling Deputy President William Ruto to stop lecturing Governor Amason Kingi on corruption.
They said the DP has not moral authority to lecture the county chief on matters graft.
During his visit to Kilifi on Wednesday, Ruto ordered for the arrest of people linked to the loss of Sh51 million county cash.
The demonstrators, however, said the national government which the DP serves is involved in mega graft scandals.
They were led by Bunge la Wananchi members of Kilifi county during the protests.
They matched along roads in Kisumu Ndogo, Kosovo, Mbuyu Kusema and Alaskan grounds.
Some of the placards they carried read: 'Tumechoka na Walaji Nyama' (We are tired with those eating meat); 'DP Ruto don’t lecture 003 on corruption. Sort your house first'; 'Return our cash Daima 1 limited Juja???'.
Other placards carried messages calling for the prosecution of individuals involved in the NYS, SGR and Eurobond scandals.
"No one should touch Kingi. He has his people. Let the Jubilee government deal with the big names that have featured in major scandals in this country," one of the protesters said as quoted by the Star.
