Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale has attacked the opposition leader Raila Odinga for being against his quest for the Kakamega gubernatorial seat.
Khalwale said that the Cord leader risked loosing local support for what he termed as 'meddling in local politics'.
Speaking at Malinya grounds on Sunday, Khalwale expressed his disappointment at the ODM party leader for discouraging political aspirants who have declared their interest in the gubernatorial race by telling them to suspend their ambitions and back Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.
“Raila called us and we had an unfruitful meeting during which he told me not to contest against Oparanya even though I objected telling him that the Kakamega residents are the ones to decide on voting day,” Khalwale said.
The senator further asked Raila to recollect his lost votes in Kakamega county but keep off the county's aspirants and avoid endorsing anyone.
