Kitui South MP Rachel Kaki Nyamai has hit out at Governor Charity Ngilu and other opposition politicians in Ukambani accusing them of misleading the Kamba community.

Nyamai claims that Ngilu is misleading Ukambani residents by asking them to boycott the Thursday repeat presidential poll.

Speaking during a church service at AIC Kyamboo in Kitui on Sunday, the Jubilee legislator told Ngilu and other opposition politicians that they have no right to call for poll boycott.

The MP said that Kenyans have a right to vote adding that calls for boycott are criminal and those propagating for it risk jail.

She asked Kambas to ignore Ngilu’s boycott calls and turn out in large numbers to vote on Thursday.

“Ngilu is my political mentor and I respect her so much but I do not agree with her calls to residents to boycott the Thursday repeat presidential election,” she said as quoted by Kituionline.com.

Nyamai who dumped Ngilu's NARC party and joined Jubilee asked Kambas to ignore boycott calls and vote in the Thursday poll.

The Jubilee lawmaker urged the Kamba community to vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta in the repeat poll.

She said that Uhuru’s government has the interests of Kenyans at heart and will push for equal development.

On Friday last during the Mashujaa day celebrations in Mwingi, Ngilu asked Kambas to boycott the Thursday poll.

Ngilu claimed that the repeat poll is flawed alleging that even IEBC itself is not confident on the credibility of the repeat poll.

Eligible Kenyans are expected to vote in the repeat poll on Thursday even as the opposition maintaining that there will be no election.

The government has however assured Kenyans of their safety before, during and after the repeat presidential election.
