TNA and URP Nakuru branch chairmen, Samuel Githaiga and Joseph Bett respectively accused Ruto of using his powers at COG to undermine the government and frustrate its development efforts.

Speaking Tuesday at the new JAP offices at Milimani estate, the duo said the Bomet governor portrayed disrespect to the office of the presidency by directing governors not to attend the launch of the multimillion hospital equipment project, which was launched by the president at state house on Friday.

“We respect Governor Ruto as a leader but we want him to stop misusing his powers in trying to manipulate other governors into doing whatever he wants. If he has hidden political agendas then he must stop using the COG to advance them,” said Githaiga.

On his part, Bett said Ruto is behaving like a ‘small political god’, and called on him to stop frustrating the government’s efforts of bringing development to the people.

“He is part of the team that drafted the jubilee manifesto and I am surprised to see him opposing everything the government does. He opposed the formation of JAP and now he is opposing the equipping of hospitals but he should know that the power he is enjoying now was given to him by the people and the same people can take it away if they want to,” said Bett.

On Friday, the COG skipped a presidential function n at state house Nairobi despite being invited, something which angered the ruling jubilee coalition.
