National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale has accused Garissa Governor Nathif Jama for misusing Sh5 Million to hire a chopper to help in the distribution of food in Ijara and Hulugho.
Speaking on Sunday in Tetu Primary School in Garissa, Duale asked Jama to come out and explain to the county how the said amount was used.
“It doesn’t make sense at all for the governor to hire a chopper to go to a place that is a two-hour drive,” he said.
The outspoken politician also called upon county residents to vote the governor out during the next general election since he has failed to keep his pre-election promises.
Jama has, however, rubbished Duale’s claims, terming them baseless and driven by his selfish interests as the next general elections draw closer.
The governor asked Duale to get his facts right before making such allegations against him.
He also expressed his willingness to appear before the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) to clear his name over the matter if Duale has evidence to support his claims.
