Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has been criticised for engaging in Kisii politics contrary to the law as enshrined in the new constitutional dispensation.
Nyakoe MCA Cosmas Saka claimed that the CS was conducting secret political campaigns aimed at undermining elected leaders in the area and yet he ought to be impartial.
Speaking at Nyakoe trading center on Monday Morning, Mr Saka urged the CS to resign and join politics instead of using government resources to undermine local politicians.
The MCA said that in the past one month the Minster has been a regular visitor to many churches in the area and there was a need to ensure that he steps off politics and play his role as a cabinet secretary.
“We want him to either step out and become a politician or engage his education ministry because we won’t tolerate any state official who plays politics,” he added.
This comes after the CS showed his support for the ‘Omogusii Unity’ Movement which has been making political waves in the region.
