Opposition leaders from the Coast region have been asked to refrain from politics and focus on developing their counties.Omar Shallo, a Jubilee politician, said politics and threats were unnecessary at this time that the country is preparing for the swearing-in of President Uhuru Kenyatta.Shallo said politicians in the country have been actively involved in politics since January, adding that it was now time for them to focus on development matters.He said politicians in the opposition do not have any agenda that will uplift the living standards of locals, and should stop causing unnecessary tension among residents.He said the region should remain calm and peaceful, and urged politicians to work towards uplifting the lives of their electorates.“We are done with politics, we have suffered massive losses, unnecessary tension and fear, we should not carry on with this situation,” said Shallo.Shallo who vied for the Mvita constituency parliamentary seat in the August 8 general election and lost to Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir said political bickering does not add any value to the lives of residents.“We cannot have parallel presidents leading a single nation, forget about that and work towards developing your counties,” said Shallo.He, however, appealed to President Uhuru to work towards uniting the nation and fostering national cohesion.He also appealed to the Jubilee government to strive towards developing the country.
