Moiben MP Silas Tiren has warned leaders against politicizing the ongoing investigations involving top officials of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), which has been dubbed as the 'chicken scandal', saying doing so may compromise investigations.

Tiren has said that much politics may hinder the investigations being carried out by the corruption watchdog, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, EACC.

“We do not need to politicize everything. I think we should talk after investigations are over,” said Tiren.

“The law should be left to take its path as we all know that this is something that touches the top officials of IEBC. Let us not just talk because someone has said something without giving investigators time to do their job,” he added.

He said the habit of politicians talking publicly without having facts is increasingly becoming common and dangerous too.

“Kenyans are eagerly waiting to hear the EACC findings and will not settle for rumours being peddled,” added the MP.

The MP was speaking in his constituency on Monday, where he issued Uwezo Fund Cheque of one million to various women groups.
