Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has backed President Uhuru Kenyatta’s order on lifestyle audit.

Kuria says that the order is timely and will go a long way in the fight against corruption.Speaking at Kiamwangi trading center in Gatundu on Monday, Kuria asked politicians to stop politicizing the lifestyle audit order. He said that corruption does not know politics and politicians should support the President’s directive.“We must all rally behind our President and help him win the war against corruption,” the MP said.The MP said that government officials have nothing to worry about if they acquired their wealth through genuine means.He noted that some State officials are living beyond their means, adding that it is time for them to explain the source of their wealth.The lawmaker said that he is ready to undergo a lifestyle audit, and asked Kenyans to unite against corruption and shun politicians who are politicizing the war against graft.Last week, President Kenyatta ordered a lifestyle audit on all government officials, noting that he will be the first to undergo the audit.However, a section of politicians has questioned President Kenyatta’s order, terming it selective. Some of the politicians want the Kenyatta family to be the first to undergo the audit.Early this month, the Head of State ordered vetting for all government procurement and accounting officers as he intensifies the war against corruption.
