Yatta MP Francis Mwangangi wants politicians to stop politicising corruption and let the suspects and those implicated to face the law.
Addressing the public today at Katangi trading center, Mwangangi said that the war on graft has been politicised.
He alleged that some politicians are working hard to slow down the pace in fighting graft.
“It is unfortunate that the war on graft is slowly losing grip courtesy of some politicians and prominent businessmen,” he said.
The MP intimated that some politicians are plotting to weaken independent institutions mandated to fight corruption.
He said that the independence of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has been interfered with.
Munyaka said that graft will remain a key thorn in development if politicians will continue to interfere with independent offices.
The Machakos MP urged the politicians and the public to be patient as probe and prosecution of graft suspects continues.
“We should allow the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the EACC to finalise their probe and prosecution before making assumptions,” he said.
