Kiambu County Governor William Kabogo has challenged area leaders to end the habit of politicking everywhere including at burials where people are mourning and need peace of mind.
Kabogo said that Kiambu will never grow if the kind of leaders residents are depending on are the likes of Senator Kimani Wamatangi who has not proved credibility since he was elected into office.
The governor, who was ironically speaking at a funeral service of one of the Maai-Mahiu attack victims, said that the public needs to see work and not political screams all the time even at times of sorrow.
Kabogo was retaliating against Wamatangi’s comments that he has been working under pressure with some area leaders attacking him making it hard for him to deliver to the public.
The Senator has since last week faced opposition from area leaders following his calls for the county government to be dissolved due to the numerous leadership wrangles and political heat and the leaders have been calling him ousted for the laxity in his mandate.
Kabogo however apologised to the bereaved family and the public following the political utterances by the Senator saying that some people are drunk with power yet they cannot show anything they have done to the people of Kiambu.
“Politics are not meant for everywhere. We should be cautious not to offend the mourners when they need encouragement,” Kabogo said.
