COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli has asked IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati to stop pretending that all is well at the commission but instead 'man up' and ask for more time to conduct a credible election in the country.

Atwoli said Chebukati must be "man enough" and ask for more time even if it goes beyond three months.

"Chebukati is not acting bold enough in his decision as a Luhya. He need to stand up and ask for more time, even if it's three months to adequately prepare for the repeat election," he said.

Atwoli said that Jubilee cannot defeat Opposition NASA in a free and fair poll and added that the two parties must now come together to dialogue over the requirements of a free and fair election.

"There must be dialogue for each side to know who are the handlers of elections and what are the rules of the game," he said.

Disclosing that he does not belong to either party, Atwoli said that the president will not lose his manhood if he agrees to dialogue with Raila.

Earlier, Chebukati had revealed that his commission cannot guarantee that the election will be credible when held on Thursday.

However, international observers have expressed their confidence in IEBC's preparations ahead of October 26, with the state assuring citizens that there will be enough security for those participating.
