Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association (KESSHA) Chairperson Mr John Awiti said that a large number of children dispute with the school choices that have been given to them by the government.

He argued that students that received as low as 200 marks have been placed in national and county schools taking up space of those that performed well. He also said that high scoring students must be rewarded for their efforts by fixing them in good schools as they all sat one exam.

“We the principals want various entries into different day, county and national schools to be precise to avaid confusion in admission which is currently the case now,” he said.

Awiti added that the scenario currently is that poor performers are now celebrating while those who performed well are still struggling to get the schools of their choices and this is killing learners' morale.
