Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to do all he can to prevent NASA leader Raila Odinga from being sworn in as the people’s president.Speaking to journalists at Parliament buildings in Nairobi on Thursday, Haji said Raila wants to use the swearing-in to negotiate for a place in President Kenyatta’s government. The Jubilee Senator claimed that the former Prime Minister’s plans are not good for the country and Kenyans.Haji who was accompanied by his Nairobi counterpart Johnson Sakaja accused Raila of preaching disunity among Kenyans. He claimed that the ODM leader wants to ‘cause anarchy through an illegal swearing-in’.“Our advice to President Kenyatta is for him to use his powers and machinery and ensure that Raila’s illegal swearing-in does not take place,” he said. The Senator said the country is tired of the opposition’s continued politicking which he said is hurting the economy.Haji further said that NASA’s tactics are causing confusion and fear in the country, adding that it is time Raila and his colleagues are dealt with according to the law.He asked Kenyans to ignore the propaganda being spread by the opposition and instead support President Kenyatta’s development agenda.NASA has maintained that it will swear in Raila as the people’s president. The swearing in has been set for January 30 even as the government terms the move as illegal and highly treasonous.
