ODM politicians have dismissed former Foreign Affairs Minister Raphael Tuju over a statement he recently made in a radio interview about Raila's chances of being elected President in 2017.
Led by the party National Treasurer Timothy Bosire, the leaders called on the former Rarieda MP to stop using Raila's name to 'beg for a job from Jubilee'.
During an interview at Ramogi FM last week, Mr Tuju said Raila should be prepared to lose the 2017 poll yet again as the incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta still 'enjoys tyranny of numbers'.
"Four counties where Raila enjoys huge support with almost a religious zeal only registered 1.5 million votes as opposed to two counties from Central which registered the same number. If he combines forces with the GEMA community, and the community combines forces with others, he is sure to attain more than 40 per cent of the total votes," said Tuju.
However, ODM MPs from the region asked the former lawmaker to stop using the subject of Raila's Presidency quest to secure a job from Jubilee.
"What can Tuju tell the people of Kenya. The fact that he lost his seat 10 years ago is enough to tell that he is an insignificant person in Kenya politics. Let him not use the name of Raila to get a job in jubilee," said Timothy Bosire.
On his party, Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo, who defeated Tuju in 2007 warned the former legislator against 'polluting' the mind of people by the use of 'awkward' statements, a statement that was reiterated by Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma and Nyalenda A ward MCA Jackton Onunga.
