Budalangi MP and former ODM Secretary General Ababu Namwamba has faced tough times to explain his claims that goons were hired by ODM leader to attack Bungoma-based Journalist Moses Masinde.
On his Facebook page, Ababu posted that goons were paid to attack journalists who were in the field to report from the ground but only to be attacked by goons.
“Intimidation never wins the hearts and minds of the people. Violence, hate and bile cannot capture power in a democracy. In the strongest terms possible, I condemn the beastly assault of Bungoma-based Journalist Moses Masinde by the despicable armed goons who accompanied ODM leader Rt. Hon Raila Odinga to Budalangi yesterday,” read part of his post.
However, Kenyans have condemned Ababu for seeking cheap publicity by commenting on his Facebook post.
Job Omondi commented by saying, "The 'goons' just overshadowed your paid goons so stop seeking cheap publicity. Did you also condemn in strongest terms possible the assassination of Jacob Juma also a mulembe and a prominent one at that? Wait, did you even attend the burial?. Where are the pictures coz what you have posted here is Kasarani........wacha kutupima akili boss.
Stella Khaoya reacted by posting, “Hahahaha. Strange that you never said anything when your neighbour Jacob Juma was murdered in cold blood”.
Kephers Ouya also posted, “Unfortunately, that someone must have also ferried your loyal mother to the ODM rally, particularly to meet Raila. If you are making noise on top of the roof in order to portray ODM otherwise, or simply to justify the value of the ransom, please have the courtesy to simply prove yourself right by posting the said evidence, rather than crying over spilt milk by posting two year old Kasarani pics. Hypocritical!
