Ukambani residents have been told to stop selling their land and instead focus on developing them for personal benefits.
Speaking during a Kamba declaration meeting in Machakos County on Monday, former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti said residents from Machakos, Makueni and Kitui Counties should embrace agribusiness to improve their livelihoods.
Ndeti advised the locals to plant trees on their land and make gabbions in a bid of conserving soil and protecting it from erosion which make it lose value.
She said sale of land had in the Ukambani region had resulted to encroachment on Kamba land by other communities which eventually push legitimate owners out of their land.
"Why should you sell your land without a second plan, instead develop the land you are leaving idle to benefit you," Ndeti said.
Ndeti said she is hopeful of winning her appeal against Machakos governor Alfred Mutua in the court of appeal stating she's sure she is the Machakos people's choice.
" I will appeal until I win the case, I'm sure I am the fit governor for Machakos County. I'm just on leave," Ndeti said.
Ndeti said Kalonzo is the best shot for presidency in 2022 and urged other leaders to back him.
Her sentiments were echoed by the Makueni Woman Representative Rose Museo who urged the Kamba community to stock together for prosperity.
"We either stick together or perish together," Museo said.
