Racheal Otundo argued that the number of women who have been given top county jobs is few yet women overwhelmingly voted for Ongwae and his deputy Joash Maangi.

“Governor Ongwae has given women a raw deal in his administration. Women should also be appointed for top county job posts because they are capable of delivering as men,” she said.

She said several women voted for Ongwae during the last year’s polls but it is unfortunate that Ongwae decided to sideline women when making big appointments.

“Ongwae should d know more women voted for him than men. He should explain why few women have been given the opportunities to work at the county,” said Mrs Otundo.

Mrs Otundo challenged county MCAs to ensure more women are considered for top county posts when they arise.

“MCAs should ensure more women are hired to work in the county because we have women who have gone to school with qualifications who are ready for big engagements,” she noted.

The politician urged women to come up and vie for elective posts in 2022.
