Balambala MP Abdikadir Aden has asked opponents eyeing his seat in the August 8 polls to stop soiling his name and instead engage locals on issued based campaigns.

Aden claims that his rivals are spreading propaganda against him in heir campaigns.

The ODM MP, who was handed a direct ticket two weeks ago warned rivals against propaganda, saying it could spark animosity among locals.

“I urge my opponents to desist from spewing propaganda and malicious campaign tactics for the sake of peace and unity our people,” he said.

Aden also asked rivals to preach unity instead of making controversial statements that could divide locals.

“Let them engage locals in real development issues and leave propaganda out for the sake of peace,” he added.

Aden exuded confidence of being re-elected in the August 8 polls, saying that his development record speaks for itself.

“Balambala people knows what I have done for them and they are at liberty to make a decision on who to support between my rivals and myself,” he said.

Aden is facing stiff competition form Jubilee Party’s Abdi Omar Shurie.

Shurie has vowed to send Aden packing accusing him of allegedly abandoning Balambala people.

The Jubilee aspirant has vowed  to push for infrastructure development, security and tack unemployment if elected MP in the August 8 polls.
