Speaking in Kiambu town, Kabogo expressed displeasure with some county bosses accusing them of witch-hunt. He said no one should be scolded for not supporting the referendum by the council of governors.

“It is not fair for some people to start tarnishing our names because we are not supporting their interests. Everyone has a right to decide and choose what he or she wants to support,” he said.

The governor added that no one forced them to abandon the referendum push which he said was time wasting.

Kabogo said he will not waste engaging in baseless politics and that he is keen to work for the people.

He indicated that his county will continue to work closely with the national government in order to promote development.

The Kiambu county chief asked the council of governors led by the outspoken Bomet county boss Isaac Ruto to stop the referendum calls and instead engage the government through alternative channels.
