National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga has appealed to his supporters to shun violence and ensure there is no destruction of property during the anti-IEBC demonstrations.

Speaking to a group of church leaders at the St Stephen's ACK Kisumu yesterday, Raila said it was wrong for demonstrators to light bonfires on highways and disrupt public transport and other essential services in their push for reforms at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

He was speaking just a day after a group of demonstrating youths in Kisumu looted Tumaini Supermarket on Friday.

''I beseech our people with all kindness and humility to desist from acts of hooliganism that may undermine the tenets of democracy that we are fighting for,'' Raila said.

He also reached out to religious leaders asking them to nurture the young generation with morals to help them live a good life.

''I appeal to church leaders to help us nurture the young generation and bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord, without putting them to wrath,'' he added.
