Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has been asked to stop issuing threats to the National Super Alliance (NASA) over the joint nomination debate.
Five Members of the Vihiga County Assembly have called upon Omar to top causing a storm in the alliance as the opposition seeks to unseat President Uhuru Kenyatta in the upcoming general election. The five MCAs, Tom Atingo, Vincent Athiaya, Maureen Ambasa, Ben Ombima and Wilberforce Kitiezo asked Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to speak out in good time on how the party plans to conduct its nominations. This comes after Omar, who is the Wiper Party Secretary General and Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho differed over the issue of holding joint NASA nominations.Omar argued that Wiper has the capacity to field candidates in all elective posts whereas Joho was advocating for joint nomination to prove that he is the strongest candidate in the region. However, Joho, later said that he has no problem with joint or individual party nominations. Different leaders from the opposition have continued to express mixed reaction in relation to nominations in the alliance.
