Jubilee government has committed its resources to reclaiming what has been traditionally an opposition stronghold with top leaders led by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto making several trips to the region.

But Abuya a former seven bearded sister who gave the government of Jomo Kenyatta and Daniel Moi sleepless nights on Monday said the region was still intact in the opposition and Jubilee penetrating it would be equivalent to climbing Mt Everest in few minutes.

“I have been in politics for a long time and my advice to Jubilee government is that they should stop wasting resources in campaigning in the larger Gusii region because convincing people to vote for them is like climbing Mt Everest in few minutes,” he said.

“Most residents here feel discriminated by the government with only a few people who have been in the political arena for a long time rewarded. I don’t see them voting President Uhuru,” he said.

Abuya blamed Jubilee unpopularity on using of politicians who had lost touch with people in selling their manifestos.

“The issue is not that people dislike Jubilee that much. The top leadership has been using people who had lost touch with people. They have to use new faces with a good reputation or equally stop wasting their resources to the region,” he said.

Among the people being used by the government in articulating its agenda are Joash Maangi, Walter Nyambati, Sam Ongeri and Omingo Magara.
