Nyamira leaders have been challenged to focus on development before the next general election as one way of improving the county.
Speaking on Sunday at Gesima ward, a section of youths from the area said that leaders should focus on development and ignore the many aspirants who are already gearing up for the campaign.
Led by Calvin Barongo, a treasure to one area group, they youths said that the current leaders need to develop the county despite the opposition from the aspirants.
“We are aware that there are many aspirants who are eyeing various positions come 2017, but we would like our current leaders to make sure that they avoid them and focus on development,“ said Barongo.
“The county is so important than the individual, all residents want is development and come 2017 we are the ones with a marking scheme to determine who to be in power,” added Barongo.
Dennis Nyakundi, another youth from Gesima said that it is important for both current leaders and the aspirants to focus solely on development rather than fighting each other.
“Early accusations between our leaders and aspirants will slow development, we want our leaders to focus on development,” said Nyakundi.
