Nakuru residents have complained over what they said is an increase in stray dogs in the town.
Residents said that the County’s Public Health Department should respond swiftly and poison all the dogs roaming the town and its outskirts day and night.
Residents said they fear the dogs might cause an outbreak of rabies in the town.
“Dogs are all over eating from bins yet the health department is merrymaking at the headquarters, let them posison them,” Jadidah Wangare said.
The most affected area by these stray dogs is London, maybe because of the Gioto dumpsite that is a stone throw away.
“You spot them sniffing here and there. But that is not even the issue, the other day about four nursery kids were walking home. They started throwing stones at the dogs obvious of the risk,” Emmah Lorupe said.
Just past Gioto, several dogs could be spotted at Edmar stage roaming.
“I think one is on heat, they are usually not that many,” Peter Maina, a driver said.
