Speaking on Sunday at his area of representation, Bombaba-Borabu MCA Koina Onyancha said most officials from the department were issuing registration documents to aliens who are working to destabilize the country in the name of insecurity.

He said the registration of persons department is the most corrupt institution hence making it vulnerable to terrorists who targets innocent Kenyans.

“The country leadership has been accused persistently of failing to curb insecurity in nation. In return the government is either responding by deploying more security personnel to affected regions or arresting and detaining people who are just suspects,” he said.

“If at all the President and his administration want to fight insecurity, they ought to start with immigration department. I am sure that the department contributes to 70% of the insecurity incidents in the country by registering aliens who are dangerous in our society,” he added.

According to him, scrutiny will bring normalcy in the department since incompetent and corrupt officials will be kicked out of the system.

“If the President agrees to do that, he will get a chance to put competitive and corruption free individuals hence make it difficult for those criminals entering the country with ill motives,” he said.

The country has been battling to curb insecurity that has hit the country since 2011 when Kenyan troops launched the Operation Linda Nchi to flush out Alshabaab militia out of their hideouts in Somalia with the militia launching retaliatory attacks in the country in response.
