Two street children are being held at the Bondeni Police Station in Nakuru after they were found in possession of 500 rolls of bhang worth Sh25,000.
The underage urchins were arrested by Section 58 Sub-chief Moses Karanja who was in company of three Administrative police officers during a patrol in the crime infested Kanyon slums adjacent the posh Naka estate on Friday.
The sub-chief said that the street children were helping law enforcers with investigations to establish the source and destination of the drugs.
He added that the urchins dropped a plastic paper bag containing the drugs that was being carried by one of them and started running but police caught up with them and arrested them.
“We suspect that the boys were being used to transport and deliver the drugs within the town. Police are investigating and will arrest and charge suspects in connection with the incident,’’ he said.
