Street children and other youths in Eldoret town are living in fear after a number of them died in mysterious circumstances.
They say that this year alone three of their colleagues disappeared on different occasions mysteriously only for their bodies to be found near River Sosian.
"We can't understand what is happening to some of us. There is this friend of mine by the name Jimmy who was bitten on the leg by an animal but where he was sleeping there was no blood, it sucked the blood from him," said Ken Ngaruiya, a street boy.
They said they do not know who is next in line and they suspect the 'animal' targeting them could be a djini.
"The 'animal' is giving the street families a very hard time. The county government threw them from the town centre and they can’t sleep there which is a bit safe. They need to reconsider that," said Leah Jerotich, a business person in Eldoret town.
The street children are now requesting the government to issue them with ID cards so that they can look for alternative livelihood and settlement.
