The day time drama started after the suspect entered Ukwala Supermarket along Kenyatta Avenue and started stuffing assorted items in her inner pants seemingly ignorant of CCTV cameras.

An employee at the supermarket Mary Kimani said the suspect was arrested by the supermarket’s security guards after being signalled by a CCTV manager. The source said that the unidentified street girl, shabby dressed and seemingly drunk, tried to steal a pair of ladies pants, cosmetics and an alcoholic drink from the busy supermarket.

"She is probably a street girl from the way she was wearing and behaving. She was not aware of the secret cameras so she was surprised when she was caught,” said Ms Kimani.

According to Kimani, the suspect who tried to resist arrest as she was being driven to Railways police station in the company van caused a commotion in the supermarket as customers and members of the public got attracted by the drama.
