A street girl has been remanded by a court in Nakuru after she faced charges of being in possession of 10 rolls of marijuana.
The prosecution told chief resident Magistrate Felix Kombo that Mercy Anyango, 24, was found carrying 10 rolls of the illegal drug at Kivumbini estate on the night of December 8 this year.
Police on patrol arrested the suspect outside an entertainment spot in the estate and it is believed that the accused, who said that she is a poor street girl trying to earn a living, was selling the drugs.
Anyango was remanded until December 29 when the case will be mentioned.
In the same court, a man and his wife were charged with possession of 500 litres of illicit brew which they were found selling at a house in Keratina estate in Nakuru on December 9 this year.
According to the charge sheet, Ezekiel Munene and Florence Mukami were found selling an illegal alcoholic drink at their house at around 9pm before being arrested by police officers from Lanet police station.
They were released on a cash bond of Sh10,000.
The case will be heard on January 7 next year.
