Former Ulinzi stars striker Stephen Waruru has denied claims that he has signed for 2016 Kenya Premier League champions Tusker Fc.

The diminutive striker who bagged 13 goals in the recently concluded KPL season took to his social media account to deny the links maintaining that he is still a free agent barely a month after he announced his exit from Ulinzi.

"Just to confirm to my fans that am a free agent, I have not signed with any club yet.Do not listen to any rumours", he posted on his Facebook page.

There were serious links between the player and the Brewers especially after it became apparent that veteran striker Allan Wanga was set to exit Tusker for a move down south to either South Africa or Zambia.

Interestingly,Waruru's last match for the Soldiers was against Tusker at the Afraha Stadium where he netted a brace as Ulinzi walloped  the visitors 4-0.

He would later bid farewell to his teammates although he remained rather non commital on his future plans.

"This was my last match for Ulinzi Stars. I have enjoyed my time here and I want to thank my teammates, technical bench and the management for the support they accorded me during my stay here,I wish the team all the best for the future.Only God knows where I will go next ", he had said.
