Jeff Mitei is the current President of Kisii University students' Union. His charismatic leadership has been the driving force of leading over 17,000 students of the university since November 2015.
Mitei was admitted at Kisii University to pursue a degree course in Software Engineering in 2013 but he shifted to Economics and Statistics.
The 21-year-old began exercising his leadership skills from a local primary school and later at St Patricks Boys high school in Eldoret where he served as deputy school captain and later captain in 2012.
In January this year, Mitei led the university students to defend their institutions against the order by the Commission for University Education (CUE) to shut down some of their satellite campuses.
Despite the opposition in his leadership, Mitei says he is always ready to opt for dialogue with the opposition team to reach an agreement.
Deputy President William Ruto is his role model.
"The deputy president gives me a reason to go ahead," he said.
About future politics, he is optimistic to win Uasin Gishu's gubernatorial seat.
"I am ambitious that I will be the governor of Uasin Gishu County in 2022," said Mitei.
