Kisii University students' union speaker Seth Anunda has pledged to secure a number of scholarships to needy students in the institution.
This comes after there was a rising concern of some students missing their examinations and others discontinuing from studies due to lack of enough tuition fees.
Anunda, who is also an aspiring politician in Kisii, said on Sunday that he has held talks with government officials who promised to sponsor some of the needy students.
"I am working out to secure scholarships for our needy comrades which will entail their full sponsorship for four years in campus," said Anunda.
He noted that this will be effective when the institution will reopen in May, where he will select needy students for sponsorship.
"The chances are few but I will ensure the deserving ones get this, once the university resumes next semester," he added.
