This was said today by the Principal of Egerton University Nakuru Town Campus Professor Lenah Nakhone when she addressed student union officials, class representatives and clubs and associations leaders during a Student Leadership and Peace Building Workshop at the university’s board room.

Professor Nakhone observed that student leaders were inspired by other students to seek for leadership positions hence they should give a good example in many spectrums of campus life.

“Your colleagues inspire and chose you to lead them. You should not lead them astray but give good example by excelling in class and social activities on campus. You should indicate that your lives are adaptable for better things in life,” said Nakhone.

The principal further observed that good leaders apply dialogue in problem solving and also consult widely before making decisions.

While advising the student leaders to shun campus politics based on tribal and academic groupings, she announced that the university would soon ban all tribal and regional associations in the campuses and would encourage professional associations and clubs instead.
