[Photo/Elvanis Ronoh] Principal Secretary Vocational and Technical Training Dinah Mwinzi has assured all students who scored D and below in last year's KCSE examinations that they will get places at Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.She said no student will be turned away because of his or her grade."We have enough TVET institutions across the country that will absorb all students who got D and below where they will start with craft courses and at long last may find themselves in university if they work hard," she said in Eldoret town, Thursday."We want our students to get skills and knowledge on practical and market-oriented courses that will help them earn a living. We want students to demonstrate and not describe knowledge," she added.She, however, revealed that student's in TVET institutions can now apply for Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) to pursue their education. "The national government has increased the money allocated to HELB from Sh400 million to now Sh1.2 billion to cater for students in TVET institutions," noted Mwinzi.
