The students who performed excellently in the 2014 KCPE exams and were called to national and provincial schools and know their parents cannot sustain the fees for four years, have been recommended to  join day schools and work hard instead of dropping out.

Speaking during a 1 million bursary allocation in Tala Ward on Tuesday, Alex Kimitu the area Member of County Assembly cited that a focused student will perform best in any school.

Kimitu stated day school fees is less and affordable to those from humble backgrounds and will be certain that parents can afford the four year cost.

“Success is not determined by the school one is admitted but rather their hard work. If a student has performed well and the parents can’t afford the expensive schools then join a day school and put effort,” said Kimitu.

The MCA further stated Machakos County Ministry of Education has put in place plans to build more equipped day secondary schools so as that overall quality education is offered.
