Maseno University has suspended 2017-2018 semester 1.
Student’s leader Linus Sang Kipsigei SOMU Secretary General, said the semester is suspended following Wednesday's special Senate meeting.
He however stated that the suspension did not affect the parallel students in Kisumu Campus.
He added that the reporting dates will later on be communicated.
“Following today’s Special Senate meeting the semester is hereby suspended. This however does not affect the parallel students in Kisumu City campus,” said Linus.
This has elicited mixed reacting from the students who claim the University is misleading them.
“It is only last week that we were told to return back school but now here we are being told that the university is closed. They are misleading us making us use a lot of money yet no learning takes place,” said Moris Otini.
It is hardly two weeks since the students were asked to report back school something that has left the students confused and unsure of the future of their exams set to start on 10th January 2018.
“We don’t know how we will sit for our exams set for 10nth January without attending classes,” said Mercy Chebet a third year student.
