A number of students had earlier trolled constituency administration on social media platforms over delayed allocation of the bursaries, but Justus Omiti, who spoke to the reporter on Monday, said the CDF committee had finalised the names of deserving cases and will have their accounts credited on Thursday this week before end semester exams commence.

“The CDF committee had been compiling the list of deserving cases and I would like to urge those who applied to be patient till Thursday. Their accounts will be credited and it’s important for them to confirm in their respect institutions,” Omiti said.

“The CDF committee went for most deserving cases and the process was free and fair as Timothy Bosire’s administration is committed in assisting needy students because that is his prime responsibility,” he added.

He said the delay was precipitated by a large number of applicants compelling the CDF management to look for other external sources to fill the budget.

“We had very little budget yet the number of applicants was high. The MP had to look for other sources to ensure all students receive the funding before they start they end semester exams,” Omiti added.

According to him, all successful university students’ applicants will receive a flat rate of Sh10,000 while those from middle level colleges will receive Sh6,000.
