A court in Nyamira on Friday released two Nyagokiani Secondary School students who had been arrested over attempt to burn a dormitory on a Sh100,000 bond.
Presiding over the case, Nyamira senior resident magistrate Rene Kitagwa said she reached the decision after the students asked the court to read their charges afresh after recanting their earlier guilty plea.
The duo face two counts of attempting to burn a dormitory and trying to destroy evidence on the night of July 11.
The case will be mentioned on July 26 while hearing has been set for October 26.
