Maseno University students woke up early on Sunday morning to flush out criminals after insecurity cases went a notch higher.
The activity, tagged 'Operation Ondoa Wakora' saw lots of students gather together to fish out suspects, owing to high rates of crime experienced in the recent past around the institution.
The operation started at around 3am and the students have vowed to catch up with all the criminals who are behind the wave of attacks. This comes after two more students, Ambrose Matata and Muge joined the list of injuries caused by the same attacks.
Matata was hit severally with a blunt object and lost consciousness while Muge was cut using sharp objects and is nursing serious injuries.
“We cannot be intimidated by class three drop outs who subject us to pain daily. We will multiply the criminals by zero and raise them to power a million,'' said Charles Juma Okusimba, the leader of the operation.
The students have said they will continue with the operation until the normal state of security resumes.
This comes even after Maseno Police agreed to carry out patrols and have issued a curfew indicating that no one should be found loitering around past midnight.
Anyone who goes against the order will be considered a criminal and will face full force of the law.
The operation has seen two suspects arrested and have been remanded pending investigations.
