Thirteen students were on Wednsday evening taken to hospital after the 11-seater matatu they were travelling in was involved in an accident in Baringo.
Eliud Njeru the Kabartonjo police boss confirmed the incident and stated that the driver who was speeding lost control and hit a wall.
He said that of the thirteen students, eleven were from Osseni Girl's and two from Moi high school Kabartonjo.
"There were no deaths although one student and the driver were rushed to Baringo refererral hospital in Kabarnet town with critical injuries," he stated.
The medical team that received the injured students did report that they were all in a stable condition.
The Baringo Education Officer Joseph Waiyaro did blame the accident on the rush that comes with getting back to school when he spoke after the accident.
He put across some advice for schoold to ensurethat they provide transportation services for their students during the opening and closing dates.
The accident takes place a day after a 56 - seater city shuttle bus overturned in the Nairobi Central Business District leaving fourteen people inured.
