Some of the students injured during an attack at Lokichogio AIC Secondary School were on Saturday night airlifted to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in Eldoret town where they are receiving specialized treatment.
MTRH Director Dr. Wilson Aruasa said they received 8 students - six boys and two girls - most of who are expected to undergo operations.
"We have enough facilities and our doctors are doing everything possible to ensure the students get the best medical attention," Dr. Aruasa told the press, Sunday.
"Students are responding well to treatment and we are hoping for the best," added a Kenya Red Cross officer Michael Aiyabei.
The 8 are among 18 students who sustained injuries when a student who had been suspended allegedly stormed the school together with three gunmen on Saturday.
Six students and the school's security guard were killed during the incident.
Other injured students are receiving treatment in various medical facilities within Turkana county among then Lodwar County Referral Hospital.
