[Photo|BD_Africa]Lecturers on Wednesday kicked off their third strike this year in hopes to force the government to honour a pay increase that had been awarded earlier this year.University students have threatened to go and join dons following their strike which kicked of November 1.The strike which is third in a year, lecturers are demanding Sh5.2 billion salary hike.Universities Academic Staff Union (Uasu) Secretary General Constantine Wasonga accused the National government of playing tricks to them, saying their CBA had not been implemented.However, students have now vowed to join the lecturers by kicking off a hunger strike starting Tuesday November 7 if the government fails to address issues being raised by lecturers.Addressing the press on Saturday in Nairobi, student leaders accused the National government of failing to find amicable solution to the lecturers' salary demands, a move that had resulted to unending industrial action.They vowed to camp along Harambee Avenue next week for a hunger strike saying they have been paying fees but no learning had taken place for the better part of this year.
