These complaints were raised after the children in all the 16 public primary schools in the region who had not paid the money were sent home to ask for the money from their parents and guardians.

"My six grandchildren come back home just an hour after they had left for school and I took them back to school and paid Sh10 for each child and I was told that money is supposed to pay the clerk in the zone education office that our MCA established recently," explained Joseph Nguku, parent representative.

Mr Nguku explained that the parents were wondering why the county government could not pay the clerk who was assigned by the MCA.

He also said that they did not understand the duty of that clerk in serving for the betterment of the education of their children.
